Leadership, Expectations and Development in Education
If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more, you are a leader.

What is LEaD by Dr. B?
This site is simply a way for me to share my experiences as a school leader in hopes that other school leaders would benefit and in turn so would the teachers and students. The acronym came to me driving down the road after a wise man suggested coming up with an acronym for the blog I wanted to start. L is for leadership, E for eectations, a for and, and D for development. As a school leader these are three things that I view as important to not only my success as a leader, but also the success of my staff and students. New posts will appear on Monday and Thursday of each week.
About Me
I would like to share a little about my professional experiences. As of this posting, I have worked in public education for the past 25 years in roles from classroom teacher to principal. My journey started with an out of field permit to teach foreign language at the high school level. Then I moved to the elementary level and taught grades two through five spending time as a self-contained general education teacher, team teaching, looping, and teaching single-gender classes. All of this in one school, working for two awesome principals. Eventually, our school decided to adopt the TAP model, and I became a mentor, then master teacher. Then I moved back into the classroom for a year to decide if I wanted to stay in the classroom or move into administration. Moving into administration was my choice and I have loved being an instructional specialist, assistant principal, principal and beyond. Along this journey, I earned a Master’s Degree in Diverse Learning and a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Education Leadership. Doctor B is a combination of my earned title and lifelong nickname (B is actually short for Blib) first used by a relative to congratulate me on earning my PhD. This new nickname is now used by family, friends, and colleagues so I chose it for my blog as well.
